Landmark Press Release: Theme Park and Live Entertainment Creative Studio Landmark Entertainment Gro
Bespoke Brand-Powered VR Content and Multi-User VR Destinations On Tap
LOS ANGELES, Calif. - (June 8, 2015) Landmark Entertainment Group, accomplished designers and producers of highly-technical themed entertainment attractions such as Universal’s “Kongfrontation,” “Terminator 2 3D,” “Jurassic Park: The Ride,” and “The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman 5D,” have begun applying their more than three decades of experience delivering projects for entertainment, gaming, and hospitality clients, to creating proprietary and brand-powered both in-home and out-of-home virtual reality destinations.
Led by THEA winner, Tony and Grammy Award nominee, and former Walt Disney creative producer and designer Tony Christopher, Landmark Entertainment Group has a rich legacy of producing ground-breaking entertainment projects for global audiences. Landmark’s concept, design and production credits encompass theme parks and the attractions within them, Las Vegas casinos, luxury resorts, Broadway shows, and television series, as well as digital and interactive experiences. With more than 100 completed major projects and counting, Landmark Entertainment Group has been a trusted partner for the biggest global entertainment brands, including Universal Studios, Warner Bros., Paramount Parks, Caesars Palace, Sanrio Company, The Venetian Las Vegas and Mattel Toys.
Along the company’s evolution from live entertainment, theme park and casino design and production to creating in-home virtual reality destinations, Landmark Entertainment Group has developed the creative and design concept for the L.I.V.E. Centre™ (Landmark Interactive Virtual Experience), a “mixed reality” entertainment destination. Fusing art, culture and retail with virtual reality, augmented reality and themed architecture and design, the L.I.V.E. Centre™ attractions will include an interactive museum, a virtual zoo and aquarium, a digital art gallery, a live entertainment stage, an immersive movie theatre and themed experience retail. In partnership with a consortium of Chinese investors, the first L.I.V.E. Centre™ is expected to break ground in China within the next 12-18 months.
“The majority of what exists in the virtual reality market today is short-form content, whereas our goal is to work with brands to create long-form virtual reality entertainment destinations. What we’re creating is the equivalent of taking your family to a theme park for a day, and enjoying that experience so much, that you want to repeat it over and over again – the only difference is that the experience will happen in the virtual world,” said Tony Christopher, CEO and Founder of Landmark Entertainment Group. “We have a great legacy of work that attracts millions of people to physical locations where they have unforgettable experiences, and for the last 14 months we’ve been applying Landmark’s unique creative and strategic approach to the new virtual reality business as well.
With a recent infusion of funding from Chinese investors, Landmark Entertainment Group is well on its way to building its first in-home and its first out-of-home virtual attractions.
